Join the San Juan College Planetarium's January AstroFriday presentation of Navajo Skies followed by a stargaze.
January’s presentation at the Planetarium will be “Navajo Skies,” a recently-produced fulldome planetarium presentation of Navajo Astronomy by Dr. Nancy Maryboy and Dr. David Begay! Eight major Navajo constellations will be revealed, as well as several other ones never before seen! Show times will be at 6:30 and 7:30 pm., and the doors will open for the first show at 6:15 pm. The fulldome video will last about 35 minutes and will be followed by a brief view of the current sky with the star projector! Which Diné constellations will you be able to view in our real evening sky? Come and find out! We will also give out winter sky maps and Navajo constellation name guides while supplies last!

- Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis—maximum seating capacity of 60 in the planetarium.
- In order to preserve dark-adaption, there is no late admittance into the planetarium once the show has started!
Public Stargaze
If weather permits, we will offer a free public stargaze with telescopes at 8:30 p.m. in the courtyard behind the planetarium after the last show. There is no capacity limit for the stargaze, which will last a maximum of one hour.
